Surfing Association
The Bangladesh Surfing Association (BSA) is a governing body; registered under the National Sports Council, Bangladesh; which is dedicated to developing and popularizing the sport of surfing in Bangladesh. Since inception in 2014, the Bangladesh Surfing Association has played a vital role in fostering the growth of surfing as a recreational and competitive activity, furthermore, the organization is working towards organizing competitions and events, and promoting surfing safety and environmental awareness, the BSA plays a vital role in shaping the future of surfing in the country.
With its mission to popularize and advance surfing in Bangladesh, the association works towards creating a vibrant surfing community and represents the interests of surfers across the nation. Through its efforts, the association strives to establish Bangladesh as a recognized surfing destination and provide opportunities for surfers to excel at both national and international levels.

As the governing body of surfing in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Surfing Association organizes local, national surfing competitions and events. These events serve as platforms for surfers to showcase their talents, compete against each other, and gain recognition both nationally and internationally.

Surfing is the world’s greatest sporting stage and International Surfing Association (ISA) founded in 1964, is the governing body of surfing recognized by the International Olympic games with member nations around the world. ISA caters to creating a better world through surfing. ISA thrives to elevate the sport of surfing by crowning world champions in multiple world discipline events each year and procreating the surfers of tomorrow. Global development of the sport across competitive and grassroots levels is a key element of ISA’s mission. Furthermore, ISA provides standardized certification for surfing coaches and judges. They provide under-18 scholarships to excellent role models in their community to aid in education and surfing competitions.
ISA crowned its first Men’s and Women’s World Champions in 1964. It crowned the first Big Wave World Champion in 1965; World Junior Champion in 1980; World Kneeboard Champions in 1982; World Longboard Surfing and World Bodyboard Champions in 1988; World Tandem Surfing Champions in 2006; World Masters Champions in 2007; World StandUp Paddle (SUP, both surfing and racing) and Paddleboard Champions in 2012, and World Para Surfing Champions in 2015. There are seven different surfing event competitions- World Surfing Games (2013-2023); World Junior Surfing Championship (2013-2022); World Para Surfing Championship (2015-2022); World Sup Paddleboard surfing (2013-2022); World Longboard Surfing Championship (2013-2022 without the years 2020 & 2021); World Masters Surfing Championship (20212-2013); World’s Bodyboard Championship (2014-2015).
ISA membership includes the surfing National Federations of 113 countries on five continents. They aim to work for the conservation and improvement of coastal environments and the protection of Surfing resources worldwide. ISA also promotes the values of good sportsmanship, non-discrimination of any form, gender equality, cultural tolerance, and healthy living, particularly amongst the younger generation of Surf Sports athletes of the world.
